March 18, 2008 - Music Business Laid To Rest

After nearly six years in a persistent vegetative state, Music Business was taken off life-support last Saturday night and died a few hours later.  The final resting place is unknown, but it is thought to be hidden somewhere on the American Idol soundstage.  His nearest surviving relative, Karaoke, had waged a court battle since 2002 for the right to withhold the use of "extraordinary means" to keep him alive.  Karaoke has consistently maintained that Music Business would never have wanted to "live like this."  In an unusual move, Karaoke actually pulled the plug, herself.  In a press conference, Karaoke said that the world has lost a true giant of the arts.  Through large aquatic reptilian crocodile tears, she lamented that the entertainment world will never be the same, and urged calm and restraint during this time of uncertainty.  Per Music Business' request, there will be no funeral, but friends will gather throughout the week at the Iddi Biddi MIDI Lounge in downtown Los Angeles for reminiscing and fake live music.  In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting vocal lessons.

May 24, 2007 - T.E.M. Releases "Covered" CD:  Original Artists Bow Down & Chant, "We're Not Worthy!"

The Macomb Township music industry was turned on it's ear this week with the release of Tom Ersin's "Covered" CD.  This is the first studio release since 2001's "TOM"  took this city in a storm.  At that time the CDs were flying off the shelf (in the storm).  It remains to be seen if his sophomore effort can reach similar heights.  Once you sell 7 units with the first record, the "suits" always expect more and more.  The pressure is on.

June 25, 2001 - World:  Nicer Place          Today, the world became a little bit nicer place.

June 25, 2001 - CD Release From Tom:  A Brave, New One-Name Artist

The long awaited, self-titled music CD by singer/songwriter/guitarist, "Tom," has finally been released, to polite approval from family and friends.  He's the latest in a rich tradition of one-name artists who have bravely forsaken self-serving marketing ploys.

They're the strong; the rebels;  THEY USE ONLY THEIR FIRST NAMES!

January 24, 2001 - No News Is Good News

The Paucity Of Information Department, at the U.S. Office Of Deficient Communications And Media Sciences has released the results of it's 3 year, $54 million study.  The government's findings: No news is usually good news, but there can be exceptions.

"Like anyone with talent who wastes it… Tom needs to be punched and kicked repeatedly.  The 'Cliché Song' through me into a rage!  The production and performance is very good… but My God, what sh _ _ _ y music.  I'd rather be locked in a room with a continuous loop of Amy Grant hits playing at full volume."   [Mike Mitchelson:  Demorama]

"Armed with a great voice, a sense of romance and… one name, the very genuine Tom is ready to take on the R&B industry."   [J-Sin:  Smother E-zine]

"Clearly, this is an artist with talent… TOM is an album that deserves serious attention."   [A. Canales:  The Critical Review]
