Bands - record your songs, for a finished CD or demo.
Solo Artists - record your songs using our musicians (if necessary).
Vocalists - record yourself singing to your favorite Karaoke tracks.
Old Tapes - have your old reel-to-reel or cassette tapes "cleaned up" and transferred to CD.

T.E.M. Audio Recording is located in a beautifully finished 2150 square foot basement in Macomb Township, Michigan. It was designed and built for audio recording. The studio, itself, consists of 1200 square feet of floor space, with an 8' 8" ceiling. The control room uses about 1/3 of that, and the tracking room takes up the remaining 2/3. Much attention was given to isolating (soundproofing) the two rooms. 2 complete walls, with an 18-inch air gap, separate them. And the control room (and double wall) is lined with extra-thick 5/8-inch drywall and special Roxul mineral wool (sound) insulation. With a kitchenette, bathroom, rec. room, and custom lighting, the studio is a comfortable place to spend time.

The heart of the studio is an Apple Power Mac G5 computer (w/ dual 2 GB processors, and 3.5 GB of RAM) running Digidesign Pro Tools. Up to 18 tracks can be recorded simultaneously, and up to 32 tracks can be used at mixdown. The microphone cabinet holds a Neumann or AKG for quality vocal recordings, and a variety of other mics for drums, guitars, horns, etc. Take a look at the Equipment List for more details.

Guitarist / Vocalist / Arranger:

Besides acting as the recording engineer and possibly the producer of your project, I'm also an accomplished guitarist, vocalist, and arranger. You can choose to have me contribute guitar tracks, compose and arrange vocal harmonies, write charts of your songs for other musicians, etc. These services would all be included as part of the normal studio rate.

(Also remember that I have access to many other musicians, as needed.)

Backups of your project:

I'll generally archive your work and provide you with a backup copy when your project is finished and paid for. This is done as a convenience to you, but I do not guarantee that your archives will always be accessible. It is ultimately the client's responsibility to ensure that all backups are functional, and to create additional backups.

Payment:

Generally, payment is expected at the end of each session.

Some projects may require a deposit, with periodic payments until completion.

Sorry, but no master disks or backups can be released until payment is made in full.
